Optical Flares Installation and Licensing Guide:

STEP 1:

Download the plug-in from in your Video Copilot download account. Click on the Optical Flares

download link, and it will take you to the page shown below. Download the correct version for your

platform, either Mac or Windows.

STEP 2:

Locate the downloaded zip file and then extract it to get access to the Optical Flares installer file. The

installer file will be an .EXE file for Windows, or a .DMG file for Mac.

STEP 3:

Run the Optical Flares plug-in installer file and go through the steps to complete the installation.

Finish the installation as shown below.

STEP 4:

Next, you will need to open Optical Flares in After Effects.

To do this, go into Adobe After Effects and create a new Project, create a new Composition, and then

create a new Solid layer. Make sure the Solid layer is selected and then go to the Effect menu, go down

to Video Copilot, and choose Optical Flares to apply it to the Solid.

STEP 5:

Once the plug-in is applied, it will prompt you to license the plug-in. To do this, you will enter your Video

Copilot download account login details, and then click the Get License button. This will license the plug-

in and you can now begin using the plug-in.

*Note that you will need to be connected to the internet to complete the auto-license described above.
