OF DECLARATION

OF DISASTER

WHEREAS,

the

Hardin

County

Commissioners

Court

met

in Regular

Session at 10:00AM on

June

LL,2024 in

the Commissioners

Courtroom, Hardin

County

Courthouse,

in Kountze,

Texas;

and

WHEREAS,

the County of Hardin, Texas,

on the L6th

day of May, 2024,was in imminent

threat of

the occurrence of widespread

and/or severe

damage,

injury,

or

loss

of

life

or

property

resulting

from

severe weather conditions

countywide created

by torrential rainfall, major flooding,

and

severe thunderstorms with

high

speed

winds,

hail, and tornadic

activity over an excessive

period

of time, which has

been ongoing since on

or about

April

26, 2024,

atfecting Hardin County by

causing flooding

and wind damage,

as

well

as major infrastructure

damage

preventing

access to,

or the safe

passage

on, many roadways,

as well

as the

potential

for residential

and commercial

electrical

power

and utility

outages, thus

creating a

public

safety hazard;

and

WHEREAS,

the Commissioners

Court of Hardin County, Texas

has determined

that extraordinary

measures

are necessary

to

protect

or rehabilitate

property,

and

are

hereby

ordered.

NOW,

THEREFORE, BE IT PROCTAIMED BY

THE COMMISSIONERS

COURT OF HARDIN COUNTY,

TEXAS:

That

a local state

of

disaster was

declared by the Hardin

County Judge on May L6,2024;

and continued by Commissioners

Court on

May

2L,2024,

pursuant

to

Section

418.108(a)

of the Texas Government

Code.

Pursuant

to Section 418.108(b)

of

the Texas

Government Code, This State

of

Disaster

shall

continue for

a

period

of not more than thirty

(30)

days from the date of this Declaration

unless

continued or

renewed

by the Hardin

County Commissioners Court.

Pursuant

to Section

418.108(c)

of the

Texas

Government

Code,

this Declaration of a Local

Disaster

shall be

given prompt

and

general publicity

and shall

be

filed

promptly

with

the

Hardin

County Clerk.

Pursuant

to Section 418.108(d)

of the Texas Government

Code, this

Declaration

of a Local

State of

Disaster

activates the Hardin

County

Emergency

Management Plan.

V. This Declaration

shalltake effect immediately from

and after

its issuance.
