About Us:
Heilicher is located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, in the western suburbs of Minneapolis. The school has its own wing
on a larger campus shared with the Federation, JCRC and the Minnesota JCC.
Job Description:
The Heilicher School seeks to hire a General Studies Teacher who is eager to help students develop the skills to become
excited, motivated learners. This teacher is responsible for creating a safe classroom environment that helps develop
each student’s skills and promotes a growth mindset. The General Studies teacher is responsible for working to develop
curriculum, assist in creating lesson plans, assist in grading, classroom instruction, parent communication and a variety of
faculty obligations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist with creation of delivery of inspiring curriculum
Work cooperatively with teachers in creating and implementing units and lessons
Collaborate with the Makerspace teacher when necessary in planning, and use of, space to enhance learning
Collaborate to foster student engagement in activities that incorporate different elements of STEAM
Work with the team to establish a learning environment where students are encouraged to engage in inquiry: ask
thoughtful questions, discover answers, apply what they learn, and problem-solve creatively
Provide accommodations and modifications to support the success of all students
Set and maintain appropriate standards of student behavior in the classroom
Continually assess student progress toward mastery of standards and keep students and parents well informed of
student progress by collecting and tracking data
Operate as an advocate for, and supporter of, inquiry and problem-based learning
Participate in school-wide professional development, and seek continual feedback and coaching to develop as a
teacher
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
At least three years of classroom experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong collaborative skills
Experience with differentiation for students of all ability levels
A Growth mindset
