Overview

WhenusingOutlookorOutlookWebApp(OWA)inanOffice365orExchangeenvironment,youcan

trackthemessagefromtheclientside.Both OutlookandOWAallowyoutoviewadeliveryreportin

ordertoconfirmamessagewasdeliveredwhentherecipientclaimstheyhave

notreceiveditorifit’s

takingalongtimetodeliver.Deliveryreportsworkforbothinternalandexternalrecipients.



ViewaDeliveryReportinOutlook

1. InOutlook,gotoyourSentItemsfolder

2. Locatethemessageyouwanttotrackandopenit

3. ClickFile,

clickInfo,andclickOpenDeliveryReport



ViewaDeliveryReportinOutlookWebApp(OWA)

YouwillneedtoreviewthedeliveryreportfromthewebbasedversionofOutlook.Fromyourdesktop

OutlookaccountonceyouclickonOpenDeliveryReportfromstepthree,

anOutlookWebAppwindow

willopen.

1. LogintotheOutlookWebApp.

2. YourDeliveryReportwillbedisplayed.



IfyouarealreadyusingtheOutlookWebApp:



1. ClickonyourSentitemsbox.

2. RightclickontheemailandchooseOpen

DeliveryReport.





Whensendingemail,youmightwanttoknowthatyourmessagehasbeendelivered(deliveryreceipt)

andyoumightwanttoknowwhetherthemessagewasopened(readreceipt).Youcanrequestoneor

bothtypesofreceiptseasilyinOutlook

2013.



NOTE:Therecipientgenerallyhastheoptionofdecliningthesendingofreceipts,preventingyoufrom

receivingeithertypeofreceipteventhoughyourequestthem.Additionally,notalle‐mailprograms

supportthesendingofdeliveryandreadreceipts.



HowtoRequestDeliveryandReadReceiptsforAll

EmailsYouSend



1. Tochoosetorequestdeliveryand/orread

receiptsforallemailsyousendout,from

yourdesktopOutlookclicktheFiletab.



2. AttheleftsideoftheAccountInformation

screen,clickOptionsinthelistofmenu

items.







box,clickMailfromthelistof

menuoptionsontheleft.

4. ScrolldowntotheTracking

section.

5. SelecttheDeliveryreceipt

and/orReadreceiptcheck

boxestorequestreceiptsfor

allemailsyousendout.Select

anyotherTrackingoptions

you

wantandclickOKto

acceptyourchanges.





DeliveryReceipt/ReadReceiptforIndividualEmails



Ifyouonlywanttorequestadeliveryreceiptand/orreadreceiptforthecurrentemailmessage:

1. ClickonNewEmail.

2. ClicktheOptionstabwhilethenewemailmessageisopen.



3. IntheTrackingsectionoftheOptionstab,selecteithertheRequestaDeliveryReceiptcheck

boxortheRequestaReadReceiptcheckboxorboth.



Notethateventhoughyoureceiveareadreceipt,itisnotaguaranteethattherecipientreadand

understoodtheemail.


