NCCCS courses.
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte strongly recommends students complete their Associate degree prior to transferring to UNC Charlotte. Pathways
are structured for students who have completed all requirements for their Associate degree and qualify for the CAA.
Please Note: BDP’s are developed based on the approved curriculum for each catalog year. Based on admitted term of entry and the curriculum posted for the
catalog year, programs of study are subject to change.

Additional Requirements
/ Special Note for
Admission to the major:
The department accepts new students into the art major for Fall semesters only (i.e. students cannot declare an art major in Spring
semesters). To become an art major, students must first be accepted to UNC Charlotte, must submit a digital portfolio of work, and
must be accepted into the art major after a review of the portfolio submission. Portfolio deadlines are in early Spring. Students should
plan to apply to UNC Charlotte in November or December of the year prior to the year they plan to enroll to receive an admissions
decision in time to meet the portfolio deadlines.
Upon acceptance to the university, new students will receive an email with the portfolio link to upload their submission. New
freshmen and transfer students should then submit the portfolio by the priority deadline displayed on our website/admission packets.
